Mobile libraries consultation launched
Suffolk County Council is reviewing the routes of its six mobile libraries across the county. I would encourage anyone who is interested to comment on the proposed routes, so that the final scheduled stops meet the needs of the people who use them.
The proposed routes can be seen at all Suffolk Libraries, including on the mobile vehicles, and on the Suffolk County Council web site at www.suffolk.gov.uk, or can be posted on request by telephoning 01473 265086 or by emailing Elisabeth.harrison@libher.suffolkcc.gov.uk.
Comments on the proposals should be sent to Elisabeth Harrison, Mobile Consultation, by email as above or by post to Suffolk County Council, Endeavour House, Russell Road, Ipswich IP1 2BX by 31 March 2007.
National No Smoking Day in Suffolk 14th March
Wednesday 14th March is national No Smoking Day, and Suffolk is gearing up to help people to quit.
Suffolk County Council is setting an example by setting up "clinics" to offer help to staff who want to enjoy being a non-smoker. A clinic for smokers at the council's Whitehouse Enterprises manufacturing plant has just started, with a very positive response from staff already.
Once you stop smoking, you very quickly feel better, healthier and have more energy. Just 48 hours after your last cigarette, the nicotine is all gone from your body. Between two and twelve weeks after quitting, your circulation improves, making it easier to walk and even run.
If you would like any advice, please contact Suffolk Stop Smoking services on 0800 085 6037.
