Members Judi Walton

 Judi has lived in Long Melford since 1979 and has been a Parish Councillor since 1982, with a two year break whilst living abroad. She taught in Haverhill for twenty-two years before retiring, and now has more time to travel, garden, read, play golf and tap dance!

 Over the years she has been involved in several voluntary organisations in the village – Mother and Toddler Club, Playgroup, Junior Youth Club and the Summer Play Scheme. She is currently a volunteer for the Long Melford Good Neighbours.

When Chair of the Parish Council, she initiated the Parish Plan, which was published in 2006. In response to the views expressed by parishioners, she has been pleased to help set up both the Police Liaison Committee and the Community Speedwatch, as well as to support the funding of the village’s own PCSO.

Now she hopes to see the provision of more local needs housing to help younger people to stay in the village they love.
