The Old School Community Centre at Long Melford

When the new Primary School was built, the Old School was purchased by the Community Association so that the buildings could be used by the many village organisations and activities. Since purchased, the Old School has been decorated and modernised and now provides a most useful village facility with several rooms which can be hired separately or together. The rooms are used by all ages. Regular users include dancing classes and Tumbletots, the Historical Society, the Long Melford Silver Band, bobbin lace classes, yoga, carpet bowls and the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

The Village Produce Show is held here, as are Table Sales to raise funds for the upkeep of various village projects. 

Any organisation interested in hiring rooms -- whether on a regular or an ad hoc basis -- should contact the Lettings Secretary, Alma Beckwith, on 01787 375549, who can advise on availability of rooms and on hire charges
