A Huge Thank You

Now that our season of recitals is over we would like to say a huge thank you to all our generous supporters who attended this year. We had a wonderful second series of artists arranged by pianist Peter Dollimore, who himself gave a beautiful performance to open the season. Among our host of stars were Las Guitaras, violinist Tracey Simmons, Coggeshall Baroque Trio, West Suffolk Young Musician of the Year clarinettist Jonathan Soman and En Cor a French horn quartet, and Peter was able to secure a booking with the Scintillo String Quartet.

Our audience numbers increased overall this year from an average of 80 to over 120 on occasions, this meant a very welcome and generous income. We were delighted to be able to donate an amount of £1500 to The Friends of Long Melford Church Building Trust who are raising vital funds for the restoration and protection of the famous 15© Stained Glass windows in Holy Trinity Church.

We hope to see you in 2010 when our programme of Lunchtime Recitals opens on Wednesday 5^th May. Just to whet your appetite we have again booked The Scintillo String Quartet and also invited West Suffolk Young Musician Jonathan Soman this time playing his saxophone plus the Taylor-Arnell Trio. We have also booked well known cellist Rebecca Walker and the early instrument group ‘Wyldes Noyse’ plus a special visit from a German Choir from Hamburg. So make sure you mark your 2010 diaries when we shall look forward to seeing you.
