Long Melford Cricket Club

Long Melford and District C.C. founded in 1855 and re-formed in 1954 is a friendly and well-run club situated on the Suffolk/Essex border.Besides these pages, it has a web site of its own, run by Ray Black at <http://www.longmelfordcc.org.uk>, which we recommend.

Playing league cricket in the Marshall Hatchick two counties league gives players and spectators the chance to engage in fully competitive encounters. For those who like their cricket a little less competitive but still occasionally challenging, there is a friendly team which plays most of its fixtures on a Sunday.

The ground is always well maintained and usually hosts one or two representative matches during the season (a measure of the regard in which the ground is held).

Adult coaching and practice nets are held every Monday evening during the season from 6.00pm onwards and junior coaching (we have 4 qualified stage 1 coaches) is held on Thursday evenings from 6.00pm till 7.30pm. Boys, girls and parents are all welcome.

The club also run various social events all year round including Quiz Nights, Race Nights and BBQ’s.
The pavilion has its own well stocked bar and is also available for private hire.
