The Pottery Shop (1)
our own products
Pottery is three dimensional, and you have to be able to see it, pick it up and feel it to appreciate it.
We give here a few pictures to give an idea of the range and variety of the items we generally keep in stock. You can also see pictures of some of the more unusual items on the shelves today.

This design of teapot by Roger Kistruck is a specialty of this pottery.
It is more practical than it looks, as the handle is comfortable to hold at any angle, and the lid does not fall off by accident when emptying!
A large salad bowl made for an order. This one is about 33cm (13") across. The green colour hasn't come out very well in the picture.
A plant pot and saucer made for a special order. We don't usually put pictures on our pots, but the leaf design was a special request.
The colour, by the way, is cream, rather than white. That again is something we only do on request.
Talking of colours, we are experimenting with some new ones,
mainly using copper as the colourant.
Here are a couple of trials done recently. The red vase is high gloss
(and has now been sold). The lidded jar has a silky matt finish. A
full production batch of that glaze recipe is just about to go on
trial, so we are keeping our fingers crossed!
Shapes, too, vary from time to time. This is the first stem bowl we have made. A classical chinese shape, it is really very decorative, and shows off fruit very well. This one is about 12" (30cm) across.
We make smaller pots too. Here is a sample of our jugs on the windowsill.
